Do You Remember When ...?

Where were you in 2006? Perhaps in this main photo? It is now twenty years, (yes, TWENTY!) since the first working party trip to Uganda, organised & led by Phil Ball. In time, this led to the creation of ServeDirect and forged the beginning of the enduring, ongoing partnership with Charles Opio and Wobulenzi Town Academy.

The team players of 2006 were Simon Bramwell, Phil, Trevor Bond, Dick Ord, Simon Hunter, Barny Phelps, Peter Athersuch & Jerry. Or were you part of another team or small group over the following years? Here, in no particular order, are some of the teams ...

And there are so many memories. Over the years, it is often the most unusual experiences that leave the most lasting impression: unexpected conversations with students, driving through Kampala, hearing Charles' story for the first time, the team dynamics, a particular lesson, the students' Sunday service - or perhaps it was an elephant charge or a different wildlife encounter. What made the biggest impact? If you have a particular memory or photo, (long or short), that you would be happy to share, please send it to info@servedirect.org or by Whatsapp to 07771 882104.

Answers on a postcard, by email, by pigeon post etc. - we would love to hear from you.
